Dover Motor Speedway (DMS) is situated in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic region of the country, just a short drive to Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC & New York. DMS hosts the best in motor sports entertainment, including the NASCAR Cup Series & the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The company also plays host to the Firefly Music Festival, produced by AEG Presents. The Business Development Executive is responsible for assessing markets, analyzing business opportunities, initiating proposals and generating new business for Dover Motor Speedway. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.
Position requirements include sales experience, excellent communication, dynamic presentation and strong client service skills. This individual also needs to have a strong passion for maximizing revenue.
Producing and maximizing new business opportunities
Generating new business leads and following up on sales opportunities
Maximizing inside sales opportunities
Resourceful and good at identifying potential target clients
Embracing cold outreach with potential clients and finding creative ways to open the door with a potential client
Establishing client needs and selling inventory against ideas or solutions that align with a client’s business objective(s)
Negotiating contracts to ensure both client and DMS goals are met
Weekly reporting to the Vice President of the department
Meet and exceed established weekly, monthly and annual sales goals
Creating and maintaining positive and harmonious relationships with clients and coworkers
Appreciation for high standards in client service and operating with integrity
Verifiable success in a comparable position, preferably within the sports, entertainment or hospitality industry preferred
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with an ability to handle multiple assignment in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Appreciation for high standards in client service
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy
Ability to exercise sound business judgment generating effective solutions quickly and/or raising issues to management as necessary
Basic graphic design skills
Team player spirit with an exceptional client service attitude
Strong computer skills
Must be able to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings
